Pero la Palabra de Dios nos dice que la fe sola, sin obras, es muerta. Muchos rehúsan obedecer los mandamientos de Dios, mas hacen mucho hincapié en la fe. Empero la fe debe tener un fundamento. Todas las promesas de Dios son condicionales. Si hacemos su voluntad, si caminamos en la verdad, entonces podemos pedir lo que queramos, y nos será dado.

Cuando tratamos fervorosamente de ser obedientes, Dios escucha nuestras peticiones; pero El no nos bendecirá si estamos en desobediencia. Si escogemos desobedecer sus mandamientos, podemos gritar “Fe, fe, solamente fe”, y la respuesta vendrá de la segura Palabra de Dios: “La fe sin obras es muerta”. Santiago 2:20. Una fe tal sólo será como metal que resuena y címbalo que retiñe. Para tener los beneficios de la gracia de Dios, debemos hacer nuestra parte; debemos trabajar fielmente y producir frutos dignos de arrepentimiento. Somos obreros juntamente con Dios.

No hemos de sentarnos con indolencia, a la espera de alguna gran ocasión, para hacer una obra importante por el Maestro. No hemos de descuidar el deber que está directamente en nuestro camino, sino que hemos de aprovechar las pequeñas oportunidades que se presentan a nuestro alrededor...

When we try earnestly to be obedient, God hears our requests; but He will not bless us if we are in disobedience. If we choose to disobey his commandments, we can shout "Faith, faith, only faith," and the answer will come from God's sure Word: "Faith without works is dead." James 2:20 Such faith will only be like metal that resonates and cymbals it retires. To have the benefits of God's grace, we must do our part; We must work faithfully and produce fruits worthy of repentance. We are workers together with God.

We are not to sit indolence, waiting for some great occasion, to do an important work for the Master. We must not neglect the duty that is directly in our path, but we must seize the small opportunities that arise around us ...
